Yanming Zhang, an ensusiatic teacher, is a 2007 WashU grad with a Master’s Degree in Chemistry. He graduated from Peking Universty, the most prestigious university in China in 2003, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology ( with Honors in Science). He won a Gold Medal for the 10th International Biology Olympiad(IBO) in Upsala, Sweeden in 1999 as a high school student. He was awarded the Gold Medal in the same stage of the Hall in Upsala University where the Nobel winners deliver speeches each year after the award of Nobel Prizes. Due to his excellence in adcademic performance including his independent scientific research project while he was an undergraduate student in Peking Univeristy, Yanming received an interview from Havard Medical School in January 2003. He almost became a doctor with this opotunity but the competition is fierce that another Graduate student who had research experience in Cold Spring Harbor get the only offer in year 2003. Yanming did not give up but continued to persue advanced education in United States later on.
